Ammie Cakes was established in 2015 by Danequa Ritter, an accountant major. The business is named after her son, whom she made her first fondant cake for. From there friends and family members requested her services for baked goods. In October of 2017 Danequa decided to change careers and enroll in Culinary school, for Pastry and Baking. She attended the Institute of Culinary Education, and graduated in May 2018 as a Pastry Chef. Ammie Cakes started from an apartment in Brooklyn, and is now home based in Jersey City.
